As selected by notable art critic Bman76.
#1. BMW 3.0 CSL by Alexander Calder . It’s literal perfection. I know I often fawn over French oddballs and Skodas but if I could pick any single car to have, it would be this one.
#2. BMW M3 GT2 by Jeff Koons. Speed personified, it actually looks fast sitting still.
#3. BMW 3.0 CSL by Frank Stella . Nice clean design, the grid highlights some of the complexity of the box flares. I’d drive it.
#4. BMW 320i Turbo Group 5 by Roy Lichtenstein. Another of my favorite artists. He somehow turned a car rightly nicknamed the “ Flying Brick ” into a sleek looking machine, props to him.
#5. BMW M1 Group 4 by Andy Warhol BASF. Lol, get fucked Andy Warhol, your M1 is garbage. BASF livery is best M1 livery.

The Jeff Koons BMW M3 was my dream car in Forza 4. When I got the opportunity to get one for free, I was all like “Fuck yeah!” and shit.

It’s a real looker, if it wasn’t for Calder it’d be #1.

But
By Ken Done
I share your lack of enthusiasm for the Warhol car. I mean, it’s neat because it’s an M1 raced at Le Mans, but it was sloppy housepaint that ended up having a chemical reaction with the bodywork, and anyone famous for painting a soup can gets a pass.

I like Ken Done’s.
(This post may or may not have been entirely composed for the Warhol car...)

I love this one. It reminds me of “Toe Jam & Earl”

My favorite thing about the E92 art car was they actually raced it, too bad it didn’t even finish.

Stella inspired M1 is pretty great.

They raced quite a few of them, which it awesome

Yeah, but which was worst

I fully agree with this list. Though I’m not really sure the BASF livery is an art car, but it looks awesome anyway.
Also, best non-BMW art car:

Wasn’t a BMW Art Car, just a BMW art car
But, I’d say this one is the worst

Yeah. 1/10, lame art.

Don’t know this one?

It disappoints me that BMW put them in glass boxes at Goodwood Festival of Speed, makes it difficult to take a pic with a potato.

Yeah, but people are stupid

Counterpoint, you can get up close and touch many things at Goodwood.

Ken Done is fantastic, Warhol’s is overrated.

Are those from 2015? I was there at 2015 too! Heaven on Earth.

That was this year, but I was there last year too. I’m fortunate to live quite close by.

Ah ok. My dad lives in London and had friends who were willing to give us a place stay nearby (the town name escapes me right now...).

I’m about 22 miles away in Shoreham by Sea, it’s a really great event to be at and in go every year now. Did you see/ hear the Fiat S76 (the Beast of Turin) in 2015? for me that was the highlight.

Haha yeah, that thing was ridiculous! In terms of the cars that were driven, I can’t pick a favourite, but I really enjoyed walking through the paddock at my own pace, getting up close and watching the engineers warm up the engines and rolling the cars out. At one point Sterling Moss passed (quite literally) right beside me in a golf cart somewhere on the grounds, which was cool, I barely noticed him lol.
Also, I distinctly remember waking up in Chichester (I looked it up, I’m pretty sure it was within it) early in the morning, and so much more quiet than I was used to back in Toronto, very picturesque. (Birds singing, fresh air, etc.)
